Roseate is our self catering holiday property and stands in the centre of Lochcarron village in an attractive south-facing position looking across Loch Carron towards Attadale.

The foreshore of the loch is only a few steps away from the front door of the cottage, literally just on the other side of the road. All the local village amenities - pub, shops, restaurants, etc. - are within easy walking distance.

The cottage has 2 bedrooms and provides comfortable, spacious and well appointed accommodation for up to 4 people. Please see our Accommodation section for more information.

A panoramic view along the length of Loch Carron. Its namesake, Lochcarron village, stretches along the north shore of the loch and the unmistakable shape of "Wellington" can be seen in the background.

Lochcarron is a perfect base for exploring the spectacular scenery of Wester Ross. It is ideally located for some of the finest hillwalking in the Scottish Highlands with routes ranging from easy to very challenging. There are several Munros in the area, all within easy travelling distance of Lochcarron. More information .....

Within 30 - 40 minutes by car are the hills of Torridon and Applecross whilst a similar journey across the sea to Skye via the Skye Bridge (now toll-free!) takes you to the Cuillins. The area is ideal for sailing, boating, canoeing and kayaking and hill, loch, river and sea fishing are all available nearby. Lochcarron has its own 9-hole golf course just outside the village; visitors are very welcome and clubs are available to hire.

The area is home to red deer, golden eagles and sea eagles, herons, pine martens, seals and otters and is therefore a paradise for those who enjoy wildlife watching. The scenery is magnificent, a combination of rugged mountains and coastline, and is ideal for photography and painting.

Also within an easy 30 - 40 minutes by car you can reach the pretty little village of Plockton, made famous a few years ago by the Hamish MacBeth TV series, with its seal islands and tropical vegetation. Another famous landmark within easy reach is Eilean Donan Castle, views of which will be familiar to many people as it regularly features in newspaper and magazine aricles, adverts and on TV. The photo below shows the castle from a more unusual viewpoint, on the far side of Loch Duich.
